Private Residence in Southwest Missouri (undisclosed)

Above is an experience where an apparition was seen standing in the doorway
just before an object was thrown at us. You can hear the surprise in our voices.

This spirit appears to take credit for the experiences that we had in this house. The residents experience voices and objects banging on a regular basis.

Historic Cemetery in Western Greene County, Missouri (undisclosed location)

We visited a cemetery that is on the historic register in Missouri, in March. This was a return trip, and we were not disappointed. We had some very strange experiences there including the sound of approaching coyotes (sounding like they were on top of us) with no sighting of any animals even using a spotlight, the sounds of running up behind us on several occasions, and the sound of something hitting the ground around us. This happened five or six times, and we tried to track down the cause, but could find nothing that had been thrown or fallen. We used our audio recorders, parabolic, and a real-time evp radio, but were not able to see anything through the night shot video camera. It is very dark there! Although we were sceptical about the radio in the beginning, it is becoming more and more interesting to us during our investigations. Below, you will hear why we are really starting to like using it!

You will hear (about 8 seconds in) what sounds like a voice or at least a sound that we respond to at the time. We thought someone had belched, but here it sounds more like a two-syllable word. There are frogs that you can hear in the area down by the river, but not right by us.

If you listen very carefully, after Jerri asks, "Do the frogs drive you crazy?", there is a very soft "they do, yes", which we responded to at the time. It was destinct but very soft, and sounded more like a sigh.

This is coming through the radio, and is pretty self-explanatory. The radio was shutting down the volume, and we were trying to determine if it was shorting out, or if something paranormal was going on. I said "thank you" after a seeming response and this answer came through. You will hear our reaction...it was so clear to us!

This is a segment of the radio conversation that we had going on. While we know the argument is that with these radios, you will get bleed-through from stations, these audio responses appear to be directly related to our questions. We are getting more interested in what this radio can do for us, and don't take everything we hear as paranormal.

Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Only three of our group were able to make the overnight trip to the famous hotel. It is a beautiful building, and was very busy at the time that we were there, We were allowed into the morgue by Keith (tour manager), at the end of a tour. The guide, Thomas let us into the cold room for a short evp session, and told us some personal stories about the morgue. We stayed in the room supposedly haunted by Michael, a young mason who fell to his death on that spot while building the hotel. The stories are that Michael likes women, and will mess with those who stay in that room. Although, that did not happen to us, we did have a few experiences, and enjoyed our stay very much. This is a response that we caught in the morgue. You will hear a tour guide asking the spirit to move away from the K-2, and as the lights go out, he says "Thank you". The response was caught on all of our recorders and a video cam, but we did not hear this at the time.

This was caught in the bathroom during the wee hours of the morning in our room (Michael's room) after an investigator had been in there. There appears to be a banging sound, then a voice calling the name of the investigator. We hear, "Paula".

Private Residence (Undisclosed) in Southwest Missouri

We visited a private residence in southwest Missouri by request of the homeowners. Their two year old son had been experiencing apparitions, and they had also had some strange occurances in the way of moving objects, lights on etc. The homeowners sat in on the investigation along with another family member. We feel that we were able to provide some answers for them as a result of this investigation. We are posting evidence here with their full consent.

We were trying to contact a child, or so we thought. We caught what appears to be heavy breathing in response to our questions, as if somone is attempting to speak. Interesting note: the owner's father had passed away at an elderly age and in such a way that breathing would have been difficult.

We have watched very slight movement of a toy train (as had been reported by the residents), and were discussing the unlikelyhood of the camera catching it, when there is a deep, frustrated sounding sigh. We thought we were talking to a child, but this sounds adult.

One of the reports had been of a small girl seen by the owner's son. We were trying to reach out to her, and began to hear these sounds in the kitchen. The owners did not recognize these as familiar sounds in their house. A camera in the room had the battery drained at this time (we thought it was out of tape).

While using the real-time radio, we are able to hear "son" in response to a question about knowing anyone in the room, and at the end of this clip we heard "This is your.....". The owner heard "dad". The radio is scanning by milliseconds and should not allow a complete sentence to bleed through.

Old Prison at Fort Chaffee (Ft. Smith, Arkansas)

We visited the old prison at Fort Chaffee in November of this year, and found it to be a fun place to investigate. One of the buildings is actually used as a spook house around Halloween, and is full of some creepy animations. It would be major fun in October if you like scary fun houses! The building where we had the most paranormal experiences, however was the small building that once housed the maximum security inmates. This building consists of metal cell units that apparently once contained six (?) cells, but the walls between them have been removed. We had a number of personal experiences (cell door that closed after we left it), unexplained knocks and bangs within the cell block etc. We also caught several evp's and had a very interesting "ghost box experience", where the box would literally shut down all volume in response to questions (see the video page). We thought at first the speakers were the issue, but were unable to duplicate what had been happening as we asked questions. This happened in the cell where "Richard" hung himself. The radio has never done this before...

Shanda and I (Paula) had experienced some bouts of nausea at times during the night, and while we were discussing it, our recorder picked up what we think says,
"Go away!"

Shanda is asking the question in Richard's cell, and there is a response. We are not sure it says, "Yeah" or "No".

Shaun asks a question in Spanish (not very nice one), and gets a response that we did not hear at the time.

This is in response to Shaun again. Apparently, the spirit just did not want to be bothered.

This was during the radio session, and although it did not stop in this clip, you can clearly hear a male voice say "Stop" after Shaun gives a directive. We are not sure if this is on the radio or in the room with us. This was Richard's cell again.

In this clip, it is just Jerri, Shanda and I. Shaun is outside, and as we are packing to leave and talking among ourselves, my recorder picked up a male voice that appears to say
"F... You"! We were not able to find this on Shanda or Jerri's recorders.

There is a response as we are trying to remember the name of the inmate who hung himself. We can't quite make this out, but it appears to be answering us.

In this clip, Shanda thought she saw movement behind Jerri, and asks is that you. We caught what sounds like "Watch out", just before the K2 went off. You can hear the reaction.

Morse Mill Hotel (Jefferson County, Missouri)

We visited the Morse Mill Hotel in October, 2011. The mill is being restored and has had quite a history. We had some interesting experiences, but because of unseasonably frigid weather, we were pretty cold, and felt that not a lot was happening there at the time. On review of our audio however, we found that there was quite a bit of activity that we were not aware of. We caught this in the slave dungeon in the basement. We were trying to evoke a response from Bertha Gifford, the serial killer of a number of children and adults (poisoned them with arsenic candy).

Someone did not like our noisy break time, and appears to tell us "For Pete's sake, be quiet!"

There were three females here at this time, and all three can be heard in the clip. There is however, another voice that seems to say, "Tell Paula, I'm not walking (?) out. I'm afraid he did it. I'm scared." A prostitute was murdered there....hmmm.

This distinctive tapping was caught on two different recorders, so we could rule out interference on either one of them, and it was in response to questioning. We did not hear this at the time. This was caught in the prostitute's room.

This voice was caught while we were questioning a flash of light that we had seen in the basement. We hear, "Right here..", and it appears to be said three times.

The recorder that caught this was experiencing some distortion, but you can still hear a voice that is responding to provocation in the prostitute's room. It says, "Give her the money".

This was in the prostitute's room again. The investigators had closed the door. What we hear is "Let me out!"

Our investigators are joking that the ghost doesn't like them because they think nothing is responding. There is a voice that responds and says, "He (or she) doesn't like you". There is also something before that we were not able to make out. Prostitute's room...

The Queen Anne Bed & Breakfast (Harrison, AR) Revisited

This voice was caught in the parlor and seems to indicate that we were making too much noise for somebody. You will hear a voice tell us to "be quiet!"

You will hear us talking to each other upstairs. We are in different rooms, with some of us in the main entry area by the stairs, when a voice is caught saying "down here".

You will hear a very soft response when one investigator says, "Can you do that again for me please?" Self-explanatory!

This was caught during setup, early in the evening. You will hear one investigator working with a camera, and then a voice that appears to say, "time to go...play".

We have heard what we believe to be a woman's voice, and are discussing it, when there is a very soft, "excuse me", that we react to.

One of the investigators felt that she had heard her name called during setup, and asked everyone there about it. Listen to the beginning of this and you will hear "oh, Paula".

We caught this downstairs, and are not sure what it is saying, but could be calling Shaun "rude" or "John's room"???

This was caught on the real-time radio, and is in response to the question, "Do you know anyone in this room?" You can hear the surprise at what is said!

This was caught in the Ribbon Room, and seemed to say, "No chair". During reveal, the owner told us that is where he had removed a rocking chair, because it would rock by itself.

A voice replying to our junior guest, appears to agree with her that she is not liked.

This was caught during setup, and appears to be asking a question, "What color is that?" or "What in the world is that?".....

We have just started to experiment with the real time evp's, and are not sure how we feel about this yet, however this seems to be a direct response to a request. The radio is scanning by milliseconds! Hmm??

Return to Ft. Chaffee

In this recording, we were actually able to hear the voice at the time. This was from the area of the children's wing.

This heavy breath, or moan was heard through out the night as we walked around the fort. It was also caught by the game cam video as seen on our video page.

This seems to be the answer to the question about the breath that we keep hearing, There does appear to be an entity taking credit for it.

You will see the video that goes with this evp on the video page. This was caught on a voice recorder at the same time. It appears to be responding to the investigator having the lens cap on the camera while trying to film.

In this you will hear a response to the question of "Who's been down here?" This had to be amplified and is still very soft, but it appears to say, "I have".

This is from the children's wing. We had brought a ball to try to get interaction, with no luck. As we are leaving and taking the ball with us, this voice seems to say, "Give it to me."

As we are walking through the hallway leaving the children's wing, one of our investigators hears something. On review, we think this sounds like a small child saying, "Daddy".

Historic Fort Chaffee in Ft. Smith, Arkansas

We visited the old fort at Chaffee, and had some incredible experiences. Throughout the night, we heard various objects that sounded as if they were thrown to the ground around us (including a tennis ball that is heard in a recording below), witnessed what appeared to be be a shadow person watching us from various places in the fort, and caught what we think are some very good evp's. We also had numerous K2 hits, some of which can be seen on the videos and photos, although there is no power in the complex. On the videos page, you can hear a couple of evp's that were direct responses to questions or comments we made, embedded in the videos. The fort is an incredible place to investigate, but is a maze of buildings with rotting floors in many places. Be careful when you go, and tell Joey we sent you!

This was in the detention center after an EMF hit. You can hear the tennis ball come bouncing down the hall to us, and our reaction to it. There is also what sounds like a scream here.

We hear an interesting voice as an investigator is telling a story. Not sure what this is, but it almost sounded child-like to us.

This voice is caught after K2 hits, when one investigator asks, "Can you tell us who you are?". It appears to say "Behind you".

This is also caught during K2 hits in the detention center. You will notice a voice between the voices of the two investigators.

Once again there appears to be a scream in the background. This is after a metallic object was thrown to the ground ahead of us.

Here you will hear something thrown in proximity to us, and as we are trying to figure out what it was, there is a voice in the background calling out. Sounds female!

When one of our investigators was teasing another, you can hear an audible snicker that was not one of us. It is also interesting that this was caught on only one recorder, although we were all there with our own.

This seems to be a disembodied sound that we actually heard at the time. It appears to be responding to what is being said by the investigator.

In this evp, we can hear the voice of what sounds like a young female behind our voices saying, "Help...can you help...can you help me?"

You will hear one of our investigators say, "Hello?", then the voice of a child that says, "You shouldn't be here."

Here is a man's voice that is definately not one of our guys saying, "Throwing at ya!" just before an object hits the ground that we all react to.

This appears to be a man's voice that says, " I like it...I like that ass!"

The Old Independence Jail in Independence, Missouri

We visited the historic old jail in downtown Independence, Missouri. The jail has a very interesting history, and has hosted some well-known characters including Frank James (James Gang) and William Quantrill (Quantrill's Raiders). The building consists of downstairs and upstairs jail cells, a museum area that had been added for more modern cells (later converted), and the marshall's living quarters upstairs where a deputy marshall is said to have lost his life in an attempted jail break. History has it that a number of deaths occurred there, some from exposure (the cell area was not heated). We had a variety of personal experiences, including members being touched. We recorded numerous unexplained sounds (some of which we had heard at the time), and caught some interesting evp's.

This voice was caught when one female investigator said that she was going into the bathroom to change (into a thermal top because of the cold). What we hear is not very nice,but I guess to be expected in a jail. Check it out for yourself.

These two investigators are talking, as we are packing up. One says he's starving, and the other says "Are you hungry?" There is a response that neither heard, as they continue to talk. This response was caught on two recorders in the area.

This very odd noise was caught on two different recorders during the course of a conversation. We have no idea what this is. Any ideas what this could be?

This is at the very end of the night, as the investigator is trying to turn off a voice recorder and talking to herself about it, a strange voice is heard that sounds very close to the recorder. This was in one of the downstairs jail cells.

Hillhaven Nursing Home (Marceline, Missouri)

We had a number of personal experiences in addition to the evidence presented here. Some very strange sounds were heard, and strange movement was perceived, but not caught on the equipment. Sounds were detected on a recorder in the basement around the time of the draining of the batteries, but are nondescript!

This was recorded in the basement, while all investigators were upstairs. This was just shortly after a laser grid and video camera (both fully charged) were drained, just 12 minutes after being placed.

Investigator is seeking response and gets this. No one present heard anything at the time.

You can hear a very soft response to a question being asked by an investigator, before an interference happens with the voice recorder and thumping noises are heard. This type of interference was heard often while listening to recorders after questions.

Another example of the interference that happened throughout the night, seemingly in response to questions. This was also picked up on a K2 meter at the same time as the voice recorder fluctuations.

Queen Anne House Bed & Breakfast (Harrison, Arkansas)

A voice was heard as an investigator headed downstairs that appears to wonder where he's going.

We were able to hear a conversation all through the night whenever we were in the parlor. Here you can hear a wonan's voice behind us.

Earlier in `the night we had experienced a TV turning on by itself in a room with three investigators. This is a response when we asked for that to happen again.

This was caught during an evp session, but out in the hall. One investigator is heard asking a question, then another at the end saying "I heard a no". Listen to what is heard in between.

This is a response when an investigator makes the comment "I know I heard a whistle".

This was a response that came to a story that was being told to another investigator. This had personal meaning for the innkeeper.

Private Residence (Nixa, Missouri)

Male voice heard during conversation between two investigators (?) Private residence in Nixa.

Random voice caught during investigaton of a duplex in Nixa. Don't recognize the voice as anyone there, and there was no one present named Paul, although there was a Paula. Not sure about this one. What do you think? One investigator thought he heard the name Paul, and even questioned the resident of the home about it.

The Elms Resort (Excelsior Springs, Missouri)

We had been hearing taps in response to questions in a room (on a wing that was closed) at the Elms Hotel. The only one loud enough to hear on the recorder was this one. You can hear our reaction as this had happened repeatedly!
